With movie star good looks, muscles upon muscles and that long flowing hair you’d expect to see Slate on a Hollywood movie screen. Slate a stout built, 6 year old, grey tobiano draft-cross (paint/ quarter horse/ percheron) gelding that stands 16H tall. He is trained to lay down and sit, on command.

Slate is everyone’s best friend and he loves attention. He has been used around the ranch and can pull anything that you can throw a loop on. If a mad momma cows pushs on him, he will just stay calm and push right back. The kids have ridden him around the ranch and checked cattle on him. He has seen the bright lights, heard the loud speakers and the roar of the crowd at the rodeo while shagging bulls from the arena. He has also been drove down the highways under harness and is traffic safe.

Slate has a smooth jog, takes his leads and will lope as soft and slow as horses half his size! He has a good stop, sidepasses to open/shut gates and backs with ease. Slate has been exposed to all kinds of wildlife, he has been used in the mountains for hunting and has packed game. Slate is great on the trails, he picks his way through rocky terrain, crosses deep water, scales slopes with ease and walks across deadfall as well.
