2020 Blue Roan Draft-Cross Mare
14.3 HH
Whether it's navigating the rugged Arizona washes or conquering the steep Utah mountains, Storm handles it all with confidence and grace. She’s not just a pretty face—this girl has put in the miles and has the skills to show for it. Extremely quiet and BROKE, Storm is ready to impress.
With a light reining foundation, Storm is more than just a trail horse. She neck reins effortlessly, spins with precision, stops off your seat, knows her leads with simple lead changes, side passes easily, and has full shoulder and hip control. She collects beautifully and rides bridleless. Storm opens gates, carries a flag, and drags objects.
Storm has been exposed to everything: heavy traffic and busy city streets, large crowds of people and horses, cattle and dogs, bridges, deadfall, water crossings, tarps, flags, stock whips, and guns. She’ll confidently cross any obstacle or body of water you point her at and is comfortable whether she’s leading the pack or bringing up the rear. Recently, she was taken on a pack trip where she ponied another horse, was hobbled, and high-lined like a seasoned pro.
Storm’s ground manners are second to none. She respects your personal space, responds to your cues, and knows an extensive list of groundwork exercises. She lowers her head to be haltered and bridled, catches you at the gate, and stands calmly to saddle and mount. Need a boost? She’ll step over to the fence to pick you up.
Steady and consistent under saddle, Storm is the kind of horse you can count on to be the same reliable partner every ride. She’s been ridden bareback and double, proving her versatility and willingness to please. Storm’s classic draft-cross build—thick, strong, and sturdy with large, correct feet—makes her as durable as she is stunning.
Storm has been shown in a few Ranch Versatility classes and has placed, showing her potential in the arena. While she’ll need additional show exposure if that’s your goal, she has a solid foundation to build upon and is eager to please.
Storm recently participated in the Pony Express Re-Ride, confidently carrying her rider into the dark and through the bustling streets of Murray Mainstreet, just south of Salt Lake City. She also completed a mounted shooting clinic where over 2,000 rounds were fired both on the ground and on horseback, proving her calm demeanor and ability to handle high-pressure situations.
Easy to haul, handle, and care for, Storm stands tied all day, is near-perfect for the farrier, and takes baths and clippers like a pro.
Whether you’re looking for a solid trail companion, a versatile arena competitor, or an all-around partner, Storm is the mare who can do it all—and look good doing it.
With the purchase of Storm, I am offering 3 full days of lessons at no additional cost. This will give the new owner an opportunity to start building a strong relationship with her under my guidance ensuring a smooth and successful transition for both horse and rider.

My horsemanship journey led me to Clinton Anderson’s program in 2016. In 2019, I graduated from his Academy in Stephenville, TX, and with this certification, I’ve had the opportunity to host numerous clinics and work with a wide variety of client horses. I continue furthering my education at his ranch each year to deepen my skills and stay current with the latest horsemanship techniques.
Since then, I’ve gained extensive experience working with horses of diverse breeds, ages, and temperaments, significantly advancing my horsemanship skills. Recently, I’ve started exploring Ranch Versatility, focusing on training my own horses to excel in this discipline.
