Meet Utah! A fantastic, fun all-around pony that will build your little ones confidence and knowledge of horsemanship. Here is a pony that has been in our family for a long time! He is now 5 yrs old and stands 12 hands tall, and is just as wide!
This pony is full of personality, flash, and presence! He has a sweet and inquisitive personality, nothing ever excites him but he is always looking to see what the kids are doing. Utah is one of the smoothest ponies we have ever seen, he absolutely floats across the ground. He can pitter patter jog for the little kids or strike out in a long trot to keep up with the big horses, whichever you ask him to do. Utah has a slow, smooth lope and he drives beautifully single or double.
There's not much this fancy pony hasn’t seen! We have rode him in the feed yard, at the cow sales, and out to gather cattle. Saylor has taken him to some local play days and done all the classes! Kyler has tracked the lead steer around on him and breakawayed it. Together they have done everything under the sun on this pony!
He is one fun and handy pony too! Utah has a light neck rein, he takes both leads and has a smooth lead departure, he has a deep stop and pretty spins both directions. Utah will side pass both ways, and has a very easy canter. He has been over ground poles, through the obstacles courses and some small jumps as well.
Utah has a lot of talent but suits a very timid beginner on up to a more advanced kiddo, he is one of the rare ponies that will truly adjust to his rider. He has the kindest mind that allows him to dial up for the more advanced kids that want to run and slide and have fun, or dial right back down for the first timers that need a steady eddy to build their confidence. Utah only goes as fast as you ask him to and has the fanciest stop when you just say “whoa”.
Utah has impeccable manners, he is never pushy, he’s very respectful of the little ones space and will obediently follow them anywhere they want to go. One of Saylor’s most favorite things to do with Utah is run out in the pasture and catch him all by herself lead him up to the fence and climb on bareback and take him for a joy ride! Whether it be two weeks or two years, Utah is the pony that always stays safe and gentle for the whole family every time you saddle him.
Utah has packed Kyler and Saylor through countless miles at the Palo Duro Canyon, he is sure footed and has never taken a bad step, he watches where his feet are and takes care of our kids. He crosses water, timber and other obstacles with confidence and ease, and he is never bothered by traffic, machinery, dogs, or any other kind of commotion.
