2015 AQHA Gelding

14.2 HH

Chex, a composed and collected gelding, stands at a charming 14.2 hands high - an equine that suits various riders, embodying the Goldilocks principle of being just right.

This versatile horse has excelled in diverse disciplines, showcasing his skills in reining competitions, cattle herding on the ranch, and navigating trails with finesse. His bold nature is evident as he fearlessly encounters obstacles like bridges, tarps, and even water crossings, we even use him to flag and work colts on.

Chex's smooth gaits - walk, jog, trot, and lope - captivate attention, especially in ranch riding where his extended trot leaves spectators in awe. With his elegant movements, precise stops, and a kind disposition, he proves to be an ideal companion for any rider seeking a cooperative partner.

Despite his size, Chex surprises with his generous spirit, poised to excel as a skilled heel or breakaway horse. Whether you desire a serene companion or a diligent ranch helper, Chex stands out as the perfect equine companion to saddle up with.

Samantha Ervin
Samantha Ervin grew up in the small town of Rye, Colorado, where her love and passion for horses were born. Despite not growing up around performance horses, Samantha worked alongside her grandfather, Reed Jenkins, with his thoroughbreds on the race track and developed a deep admiration for them. She aspired to become a successful trainer like her grandfather someday.
At the young age of 14, Samantha learned how to start colts and helped a western pleasure horse trainer prepare his two-year-olds for the show season. After high school, she pursued further education at Lamar Community College, where she studied horse training, equine business management, and beef and cattle management.

After college, Samantha continued to expand her knowledge by working with different trainers, including a reining horse trainer, cow horse trainer, and recently, a cutting horse trainer. She believes that there's always something new to learn and build upon in the equine industry. What works for one horse may not work for another, and she thrives on educating herself by riding with other trainers and growing her own knowledge.

Samantha is a wife to Jayme Ervin and a mother to her son, Stetson Lee Ervin. She works hard for her family and has a strong work ethic and traditional values.
Samantha anticipates great things to come in 2024.
